  1. Would suggest later 50s, though its somewhat strange, I recognise the guard officer who is wearing the mark of the RNR not RNVR, change over 1957/8.
    The guard is wearing long gaiters, phased out by this time (look at the Royal Guard photos in the time of the RNVR).
    The Chief GI is I think Taff Davis. In those days we had if I remember 3 GI”s, Bill Munday, Reg Sedgbear & Taff Davis. Worth checking with Maurice Tubey

  2. Interesting comments from Wilf. Photo could still be early 1950s as the RNR and RNVR both adopted ‘straight’ stripes with and the R in the curl in 1952 some time before the 1958 amalgamation.
