HMS VENTURER in 1975

A Ton Class Coastal Minesweeper with Napier Deltic engines, HMS HODGESTON built at the Fleetlands Yard, Gosport and launched in 1954. Between 1954 and 1960, HMS HODGESTON [M1146] was named HMS NORTHUMBRIA attached to Tyne Division RNR and in 1961 was transferred to Severn Division RNR and renamed HMS VENTURER. She reverted to HMS HODGESTON in 1976 and was transferred to Mersey Division RNR. Finally sold for scrap in 1988.
